During this time, he was an administrator with an important place in Jewish history, who implemented many important projects in the city of Jerusalem inside and outside the city walls. One of the important projects that he realized was Herodium.Herodium is a castle-palace structure built on an artificially created hill, named after its founder, King Herod, and a settlement on the skirts of this hill. This palace, built by Herod at 758 meters above sea level, has everything that a normal palace can have. Solutions have been found for all the difficulties that will be encountered, and no difficulties have deterred Herod. Even though it was difficult to build such a structure in the middle of the desert, Herod was able to overcome this as a king who always pushed the limits. Every work he signed was ahead of its time in terms of architecture and engineering. Based on the question of how King Herod had Herodium built, the article was prepared with reference to academic studies in which archaeological research data were presented in the region. In this way, it has been tried to introduce and understand a building that is important in terms of architectural history.</p> Azize Gelir Çelebi Copyright (c) 2023 IKSAD JOURNAL https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://www.iksadjournal.com/index.php/iksad/article/view/252 Thu, 15 Jun 2023 00:00:00 +0300
